Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

1. Identify resources to access up to date information on risks of medication treatment and risks of forgoing medication treatment for perinatal psychiatric illness to empower evidence-based decision making.
2. Provide tools professionals can use to reduce stigma and shame and encourage patients and clients to share more honest and vulnerable information which can improve perinatal outcomes.
3. Engage professionals in ongoing self-directed learning using the medical literature and understand how to engage patients/clients in their own self-learning through books, websites, and support groups.
