Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  1. Describe key aspects of the psychological models of grief, including its stages and common responses, to deepen understanding of the grieving process.
  2. Identify three differences in the experience of grief among diverse populations.
  3. Demonstate two mindfulness and experiential interventions that can be used with clients to support them in their grief journey.


Course Description: This presentation will provide an overview of grief, discussing the latest research on how grief is experienced and studied across diverse populations. We will explore the nuances and variations in grief experiences among different demographic groups, emphasizing the importance of cultural and individual differences. Additionally, we will introduce mindfulness and experiential interventions to support clients in their grief journey. The session will conclude with a question-and-answer segment to address specific concerns and share additional resources.
